This panel presentation discusses the impact of power, privilege, and the patriarchy on our sexual health. It will highlight tools from Relational Life Therapy (RLT) that can be used to support sexual wellbeing.

- Examine the Six Principles of Sexual Health from an RLT lens
- Examine how patriarchy has limited access to reproductive healthcare for gender and sexual minorities
- Identify common myths around sexual health and understand how power, privilege, and patriarchy created and sustain them
- Examine how sexual shame is often a byproduct of these myths
- Discuss how RLT is uniquely situated to address common sexual health concerns in couple relationships
Heather M. Garner, LCSW-C, CST is an educator, speaker, AASECT certified sex therapist, and certified Relational Life Therapist. Believing that sexual health is a vital component of well-being and a large part of what makes us vibrant human beings, she specializes in providing relationship and sex therapy with all people, inclusive of all sexualities, gender identities, and relationship structures. Jaci Hull, LMFT, is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Boulder, CO. Jaci has a Masters in Contemplative Psychotherapy and holds Certifications in Family Therapy, EMDR, Brainspotting, Matrixworks Group Leadership, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Relational Life Couples Therapy. She is Senior Faculty and serves on the Board of the Hakomi Institute International. In private practice for over 30 years, she works with individuals and couples.

Dennis D. Durby, MSW/Diplomate, MBACP (Snr Accred), currently works with individuals, couples and families primarily as a certified Relational Life Therapist (he's been studying with Terry Real since 1999). He also works with compulsive sexual behaviours and sex addicts. He has trained in Codependence and Love Addiction/Love Avoidance, and Couples work with Pia Mellody, Sex Addiction Therapy with Dr. Patrick Carnes, EMDR with Dr. Francine Shapiro, and ACT (Action and Commitment Therapy) with Martin Wilks and Henry Whitfield. Originally from California, Dennis is now based in London. He has been in relationship with his husband for 20 years. Dennis holds advanced qualification as a Diplomate in Clinical Social Work (psychotherapy) in the USA, and Senior Accreditation as a psychotherapist from the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
